MEET THE DOCTOR
Dr. Dean M. Zusmer, D.C. is a native of Miami Beach, Florida. After completing his prerequisite studies at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida, he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York in Albany, New York. He achieved this degree concurrently while attending a doctorate program in Marietta, Georgia, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December, 1997. During his doctorate course of study, Dr. Zusmer gained a thorough education in accident injury rehabilitation, physical medicine, and nutrition.
Dr. Zusmer is a Life University Extension Faculty member in The PEAK (Practice, Excellence, Art and Knowledge) program. This program is designed to allow senior interns to complete their clinic requirements under the direction and guidance of an exemplary off-campus doctor.
For the three years prior to matriculating into the Life University doctoral program, Dr. Zusmer was employed by the Fontainebleau Spa in Miami Beach, Florida as a personal trainer, certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. He was the founder and president of Balance Center, Inc. for the diagnosis and rehabilitation of balance and vestibular disorders. Dr. Zusmer was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Planned Nutrition™, a nutritional supplement and weight loss company.
Dr. Zusmer is an active member of the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA), Florida Chiropractic Physician Association (FCPA), and the First Chiropractic Physician Association of America (FCPAA).
Dr. Zusmer has accident injury rehabilitation centers throughout South Florida.
On a more personal note, Dr. Zusmer enjoys scuba diving and fishing; organic cooking and juicing; and music and theater.He has two daughters, Erin and Paige and resides in Miami Beach with his wife Crystal and their two Boston terriers, Palmer and Emmy.
